What ethos is not
ethos is a stones throw from Khoasan road Banglumpu Bangkok, the premier backpacker/ tourist strip in the Thai kingdom.
As is the case in most world class ex-patriot strips one can enjoy all
the usual vices; alcohol, male and female prostitutes, lady boys, illicit
substances, fake goods, fake documents, dangerous goods or one can
paint the town red, get inebriated or fall for a scam. All of these
things are what ethos is not.
For those that want to escape from all this madness, noise and
excitement ethos is away from all this, just around the corner in a
quiet soi (street) where some neighboring business's are patronized by
many people who are into healthy food, activities and fitness,
meditation, yoga.

ethos
Ethos
( ) (plurals: ethe, ethea) is a Greek word originally meaning
'the place of living' that can be translated into English in
different ways. Some possibilities are 'starting point', 'to appear',
'disposition' and from there, 'character'. From the same Greek root
originates the word ethikos ( ), meaning 'theory of living',
and from there, the modern English word 'ethics' is derived.

THE
MEANING OF LIFE
Albert Einstein,
Mein Weltbild, Amsterdam:
Querido Verlag, 1934.
What is the meaning of human life,
or for that matter the life of any creature?
To know an answer to
this question means to be religious.
You ask:
Does it make any sense, then, to pose this question?
I answer: The
man who regards his own life and that of his fellow creatures as
meaningless is not merely unhappy but hardly fit for life.
